The reason that we are tempted to hold tightly to our money is because we think that it’s going to provide for us, protect us, save us. If we are truly a people who are trusting in Jesus, and in him alone, then we should – must – be people who are marked by radical generosity, because we are no longer trusting in the things of this world – including money – to save us. Instead, we are trusting in Jesus, and that faith must create love, love must create unity, unity must create compassion, and compassion must create in us generosity.
